US considers basing Ospreys at Yokota, Japanese media report
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan ? The U.S. may station a dozen CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft at Yokota Air Base next year, according to Japanese news reports.
In FY 2014, the unit cost of the CV-22 is $69.22 million (flyaway cost). The airframe costs $61.31 million and the two AE1107C engines cost $4.50 million ($2.25 million each).
